Emerald Grotto (Grotta dello Smeraldo)
Your journey begins with a visit to the stunning Emerald Grotto, located in Conca dei Marini. This natural wonder is famous for its mesmerizing emerald-green waters, created by sunlight filtering through the underwater openings. The grotto features captivating rock formations and a serene atmosphere, making it a must-see attraction on any Amalfi Coast Day tour. Typically, accessible by boat from the nearby marina, guided tours run regularly. The best time to visit is during high tide, which enhances the vibrant colours and reflections within the grotto. Please check local schedules for hours of operation; it's generally open from 10 AM to 5 PM, with the last entry depending on the tide.
Amalfi
Next, we’ll head to Amalfi, a historic town situated along the stunning coastline. Here, you can explore the magnificent Duomo di Sant'Andrea, known for its striking architecture and beautiful mosaics. The bustling main square, surrounded by shops and cafés, is perfect for leisurely sightseeing on the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi’s charming streets are filled with shops offering limoncello, local crafts, and souvenirs. Don’t forget to visit the fascinating Paper Mill Museum, which tells the story of Amalfi’s rich history as a centre of paper production. Take in the views from the beautiful, pebbled beach, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of this coastal gem.
Ravello
Our final stop is Ravello, a picturesque village perched high above the coastline. A slow uphill drive along a narrow road will reveal stunning views and pass by local wineries and olive factories. Ravello is celebrated for its breathtaking vistas and natural beauty, particularly in the enchanting gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, known for hosting classical concerts during the summer months. While exploring Ravello, visit the main cathedral and several historic churches, and stroll along Via Roma, where you’ll find quaint boutiques and traditional local restaurants. Notable dining options include Cumpà Cosimo, Da Salvatore, Villa Maria, and Villa Amore, each offering unique flavours.
Experience the unparalleled beauty of one of Italy's most scenic coastlines on this tour of the Amalfi Coast, filled with a blend of nature, cultural heritage, and unforgettable seaside panoramas.
